These Are the Experiences I Have With Books!

I have an announcement I have to make. I am going to be writing blogs on five books I read throughout the summer. “All American Boys” by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “The Catcher in the Rye” by J. D. Salinger, and “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck. I hope I can finish them before school starts.
I have read a lot of books. Mostly about world records, annual recaps, and sports games. I’ve had books like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney (My Favorite!), and “Public School Superhero” by James Patterson. I particularly like these books, but they’re not to 8th grade reading standards as many teachers would tell you.
You must be asking yourself, “Do you like books that are based on movies or vise versa?” No, I don’t. I’ve never read Hamilton (the book in contrast to the broadway film). I’ve never read Jaws. The only book I’ve read that has a movie counterpart is Holes by Louis Sachar. I had to do it for a book project (ironically we watched the movie right after the presentations, insulting), and I semi-enjoyed the book. It was very satisfying to read. It’s not the best experience, but I liked it for a book.
My favorite book genre is Realistic Fiction. I also like Fiction, but not so hardcore to the point where it is Narnia. The most frustrating book I’ve ever read was Nelson Mendela. I still respect the legend, but I had to write a book report to my Mom in a week, and I didn’t touch the book until the day before. My procrastinating self blocked out everything and read an almost 300-page book and wrote a two page essay in one day. Then, I hated like a pig and used the bathroom… like a pig. I’d love to say I never procrastinated so heavily again, but I’d be lying.
For the rest of the summer, I will emerge into the enamored world of reading. The five books I am reading, again, are, “All American Boys” by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “The Catcher in the Rye” by J. D. Salinger, and “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck. Thank you for reading.
