The Lakers Won the Finals!!!

On October 13, 2020 the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat,106 to 93, and finally won the NBA Championship. The NBA is a national basketball league. Picture it, after a whole year of hopelessness, and not even making the playoffs, it all changes once you finally get a co-star. That's how LeBron James felt when Anthony Davis (AD) joined his team. The Lakers finished first in their conference, and second in the whole league.

The Lakers easily made it into the playoffs, which is a tournament involving 16 teams, consisting of the top 8 teams from each conference. After promptly taking down Damian Lillard and the Portland Trailblazers, they moved on to the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have a player who is really good from long-range. His name, James "The Beard" Harden. They easily shaved him and his team.

Then they faced the Comeback Kids, the Denver Nuggets. In the first and second round of the tournament, they came back from a 3-1 deficit, in both series (a series is, as the name implies, a series of games that is the best out of seven, meaning you most win four games to advance). The Lakers promptly took care of them in 5 games (4-1). Finally, the Lakers took on Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. It was a fearsome series, some even speculated that the Miami Heat would actually win, but the Lakers finally ended it in game 6, winning the NBA Championship. This was Anthony Davis's first championship, and LeBron James is the currently the only active player that has 4 or more championships.
